Nepal Budget Comprehensive Highlights -F.Y. 2083-84
The Government of Nepal has unveiled a reform-oriented budget of NPR 2.124 trillion for Fiscal Year 2083/84, aimed at accelerating economic growth, creating employment opportunities, enhancing private sector participation, and strengthening public service delivery. The budget targets 7% economic growth and focuses on key sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, energy, tourism, education, health, and digital transformation. Significant policy measures include tax reforms, investment promotion initiatives, expansion of digital governance, and accelerated development of strategic infrastructure projects such as hydropower, transmission lines, highways, and airports.
A major highlight of the budget is its emphasis on improving the business and investment climate through simplification of tax and regulatory frameworks, government restructuring, and promotion of innovation and technology-driven industries. The budget also introduces measures to support entrepreneurship, modernize agriculture, strengthen social protection programs, and enhance the efficiency of public expenditure.
